Chris "Toffa" Santos fell in love with racing in his early teens. His first visit to Turffontein left him with the sound of hooves ringing through his head along with beautiful images of horses in full flight. It was from that day that he decided he needed to end up in the racing industry. Years of learning ensued and he has built up a significant knowledge of the South African racing industry.
The heroics of South Africa's triple crown hero Louis The King inspired Chris to dig further into the breeding world and it has become part of his life mission to scour pedigrees in search of equine brilliance.
Chris now books rides for a couple of South Africa's top jockeys and frequents his local tracks of the Vaal and his beloved Turffontein. He is never too far away from the pulse of South African racing and we are happy to have him as our South African guru.
